Most read nonfiction Amazon books last week: Barely any movement
There was very little movement on the list of most read nonfiction Amazon books
The first full week of August 2020 didn’t see all that much movement on the list of most read nonfiction Amazon books. What are people reading right now?
The only movement were four books between themselves in the Top 10. There were no new books and no reentries on the list. It’s clear that books about politics and race remain the most important, which isn’t surprising considering the current climate.

- Most sold Amazon books last week: James McBride book reenters
- Most read Amazon books last week: Hunger Games prequel rises
- The Mystery Guest by Nina Prose review: An easy mystery to figure out
Something to remember is that this list is only made up of U.S. readers. It doesn’t take account of the world’s most read books, which will involve more than just U.S. politics and books focused on race.
The only books that moved were between sixth and ninth places. Untamed by Glennon Doyle moved up a spot to switch places with The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson. Untamed is going to get an adaptation for TV by Bad Robot, but there isn’t a network attached yet.
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow dropped a place, switching places with Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins.
It will be interesting to see if there is more movement on the list next week. It will also be interesting to see what type of movement the most sold list saw. The most read is limited to Kindle Unlimited and Audible, while the most sold list looks at sales on Amazon.com.
