Of course, you can get all episodes on DVD instead. You’ll be able to watch when you want without paying for the right subscription service.
Pennyworth Season 1
If you’re looking for a TV show based on a DC character, you’ll want to turn your attention to Pennyworth. The first season is heading to DVD this week. All four episodes will be available, and it wouldn’t be too surprising if a few extras were included. Most DC DVDs end up with bonus features.
There is a second season coming to EPIX soon. This is your chance to catch up on what you’ve missed first.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Finally, you’ll want to turn your attention to a foreign-language movie. The French movie is set in the 1770s, focused on a painter who is commissioned to do the wedding portrait of a woman called Héloïse. Héloïse has just left a convent and doesn’t want to marry.
Marianne doesn’t know this woman, but soon realizes the truth. After all, she does observe Héloïse daily in secret to paint her.
The movie is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 98% approval rating from the critics. Audiences agree, giving it a 92% score.
