5 big questions for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’s penultimate episode

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 8 certainly took us on a wild ride. We ended up on the edges of our seats, hoping our detectives would survive the night. Now we have plenty of questions for the next episode.

Can you believe that the next episode is the penultimate one of the season? Yep, there are just two episodes left, and you know the next episode isn’t going to leave us with happy memories.

However, this latest episode brought out some truths and left us wondering what’s in store for the various storylines. How are they going to join together in the end? Here are my five biggest questions after Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 8.

How will Peter’s secret come out?

Peter told Elsa a deep secret. It’s something Linda has sworn to bring out once she’s able to. After all, she’s not going to be in the asylum for long. It sounds like her father is more than happy to help get her out.

So, will Elsa be the one to bring out the secret, or will Linda? And what will it do to Peter? He doesn’t want to be connected to his family, but there’s no doubt those people he calls friends will find a way to draw him onto their side.

Elsa seems like the most likely suspect. After all, she’s not happy that Peter chose to give Maria a raise instead of fire her.

Did Molly know her mom was connected to the Nazis?

Tiago says that Molly didn’t know Adelaide was connected to the Nazis, but at the same time, he admitted that he couldn’t be sure that Molly was telling the truth. It seems unlikely that Molly doesn’t know something is up.

Sure, Molly is kept in the dark about a lot of things. She also clearly doesn’t share the same views as her mother. But that doesn’t stop her from being suspicious at times.

What will Tiago say when he sees Josefina?

During Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 8, Tiago learned Josefina has joined Molly’s church. It’s a secret that Josefina and Molly have both kept from him, but it’s also a secret his whole family has kept from him.

He clearly isn’t too angry about Molly keeping the secret. After all, it wasn’t really Molly’s secret to tell. But how will he react when he sees Josefina, especially when he knows Adelaide’s connection to the Third Reich?

How will Townsend take care of Beck?

Townsend turned to Kurt for some help dealing with Beck. He wanted Kurt to kill the councilwoman, but he refused to do that. He knows what ordering that call will do to Townsend and doesn’t want Townsend to suffer.

But there’s a problem. Alex will do whatever she can to manipulate the men, to bring the war she told Santa Muerte would happen. So, how will she encourage Townsend to take care of Beck and is Lewis going to have some sort of unintentional part in it?

Who tried to kill Tiago and Lewis?

Speaking of Lewis, someone was sent to kill both him and Tiago. The end of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 8 saw Lewis and Tiago ducking for cover against a flurry of Tommy gun bullets. The person was in the shadows, but there’s a huge chance that it’s connected to the attack on the bar just a few episodes ago.

There are a few people who would want Lewis and Tiago dead. The Third Reich is too obvious and probably wouldn’t take the route done in the last episode. Instead, we’re looking at the likes of Adelaide or Townsend. Of course, it could be someone at the precinct.
