5 big takeaways from the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 6 promo
A breakdown of the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 6 promo
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 5 wasn’t as strong as it could be. It’s grown a little stagnant, but it looks like things are picking up for Episode 6. It’s time to break down the promo and synopsis to see what to expect in the episode.
The Vega family is far more divided than ever before, and it wasn’t like they were all ever on the same page. Tiago finds himself caught between the middle, but he needs to start making a choice, while Raul has always wanted to fight for his people. Is it surprising that Mateo and Josefina are following opposite paths?
Meanwhile, the other storylines didn’t move forward too much. There are still plenty of questions about who Natalie Dormer’s Magda is supposed to be in all this, and does she only influence men or can she influence women too?
Regardless, we’re focused on the next episode right now. Here’s a look at the promo and synopsis for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Episode 6 before we get into the breakdown.
"Tiago and Lewis interrogate Diego (Adan Rocha), seeking a confession, while Lewis senses Tiago is hiding something from him. Adelaide (Amy Madigan) warns Molly (Kerry Bishe) about her personal desires jeopardizing the Temple’s future. Townsend (Michael Gladis) learns of Kurt’s(Dominic Sherwood) surprising past. Peter Craft (Rory Kinnear) makes a dramatic decision about his marriage with Linda (Piper Perabo). Maria (Adriana Barraza) tracks down Mateo (Johnathan Nieves) and pleads with him to come home."
5. Lewis knows when someone is keeping secrets

We start with Lewis and Tiago. They have Diego in custody and that means trying to get a confession. All the police wants is someone to go down for the various crimes. They don’t care who it is as long as they’re Mexican. But will Diego become a scapegoat?
Probably not. Lewis knows when he’s being lied to. He knows that Tiago knows more, but will Tiago trust his partner?
4. Molly is stuck between two worlds
Adelaide isn’t about to let her daughter mess everything up. This temple is their livelihood, and she isn’t about to see it all crash and burn because Molly doesn’t want to be a part of it any more.
It’s really not going to be surprising if Adelaide had something to do with the murders on Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. Even though part of it seems too obvious, this woman is devious and cruel.
3. Kurt may not be as unfeeling as he initially seems
During the promo, Townsend tells Kurt that L.A. doesn’t care who people are when they come to the city. All that matters is who they become.
It looks like Kurt isn’t as unfeeling as he initially seems. It’s all a part, and he may feel guilty for some of the things he’s done in the past. Could we start to see the two break away from everything they’ve been influenced to do lately?

2. Madga seems to have no influence over women
Magda as Rio makes it clear that Maria isn’t welcome at her home. Well, Maria isn’t taking that for an answer. She wants her younger son back.
It looks like Magda’s influence isn’t over women. Or could it be that Santa Muerta is protecting Maria from harm?
1. Maria will do anything to keep her children safe
Speaking of Maria, though, she knows that Mateo is involved in some trouble. She doesn’t want him hurt or imprisoned for his involvement, so she’ll do what she can to protect him.
What she doesn’t seem to realize is that Josefina is turning to the church. Will Maria also want to save her daughter?
