There are many reasons I Am Legend remains one of those movies that viewers enjoy. One of those is Will Smith showing off his acting skills. Apart from a dog, he’s on his own. The dog is there to help him share his feelings out loud, but really, he’s only talking to himself. At one point, he is all alone, and it takes a great actor to hold a scene together alone.

This is a story of regret, compassion, and determination. Smith’s character, Robert Neville, was the one to create the virus that would kill everyone. Because of the virus’s spread, he lost his entire family. Now he’ll do whatever it takes to find a cure, but he soon realizes that maybe those infected still have human compassion and elements.

We’re taken on a journey of survival. We’re on a journey of one man looking for answers. While there is plenty of action, there is also plenty of heart that fuels the story. It’s one for the history books; and one that will leave you reeling until the end.

There is an alternate ending out there, but the original ending chosen is one that leaves a weight. It’s one that shows just how far one person is willing to go to repair the damage he accidentally created.
