Call the Midwife Season 9 is heading to DVD in May 2020
Call the Midwife Season 9 is still airing on PBS, but you can already pre-order it on DVD. It’s heading to disc in May 2020, and here are the details.
Call the Midwife Season 9 is only just airing on PBS, but that hasn’t stopped the DVD release date from being set. You’ll be able to rewatch the entire season at home very soon.
It’s not surprising the release date has already been set. As a British series and already completed in the UK, the dates are set relatively early for US viewers. PBS always airs the episodes behind the UK. That doesn’t mean we’re complaining.

Call the Midwife Season 9 will head to DVD on May 19, 2020. You can already pre-order the entire season, which will include some deleted scenes and bonus features.
Just to be upfront, while you can pre-order with your two-day free shipping with Amazon Prime, it’s not clear how this is going to be affected in May. Right now, Amazon is putting the focus on groceries and medicines, which could delay some DVD shipments.
For those who prefer to watch on Digital, there’s great news. You can already own Call the Midwife Season 9 on Amazon Video. Well, sort of.
It’s possible to purchase the season pass through Amazon, so the new episodes are added to your library as soon as they’re released. Right now the 2019 Christmas special episodes and the Season 9 premiere are available to view. You’ll get new episodes each week.
You can also sign up for PBS Passport to watch the episodes directly on PBS each week. This is a great way to see if the season is going to be worth buying on DVD in the future.
