Will Onward stream on Amazon Prime Video in the future?

Onward is the latest film from Pixar and Disney. It seems like audiences and critics are loving the film. Will it be available to stream on Amazon Prime?

Onward is a new computer-generated fantasy film from Pixar that stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt in the leading roles. Pratt and Holland play two elf brothers who try and find a magical spell that will reunite them with their father, who passed away years before the film starts. Aside from the two Marvel stars, the movie also features Octavia Spencer, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Tracey Ullman, Ali Wong, Wilmer Valderrama, and Grey Griffin.

The movie has received great reviews from audiences and critics. It currently has a high approval score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and a Certified Fresh seal.

Will Onward eventually be able to stream on Amazon Prime Video? Sadly, the odds of that happening are very slim. Now that Disney has its own streaming service, its projects are going to wind up headed over to Disney Plus.

As for when it might transition to streaming, it probably won’t be until around October.  Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin took about seven months to make the transition. That said, Disney Plus is still relatively new so those dates aren’t set in stone. It could be earlier because Disney owns the film and the service.

Even though Onward is not likely to come to Amazon Prime, it is already available to pre-order on Amazon Video. If you don’t want to purchase the film, you’ll be able to rent it in a few short months from Amazon.
