Despite the movie flopping in theaters, there’s no doubt that many people want to own Cats on DVD or Blu-ray. There’s some great news for those, whether you missed it in theaters or were one of the few that enjoyed it. Get ready for April.
There’s not too long to wait. Cats will be on DVD and Blu-ray on Apr. 7, 2020. You can already pre-order on Amazon, where you’ll grab the Price Guarantee. The release date was only announced a few days ago, but the price has already dropped, which might be telling. You can also grab it with two-day free shipping if you have Amazon Prime.

The digital release hasn’t been confirmed just yet. This is still expected about two weeks before the DVD release date, so we’re looking at March. However, you will get the digital code with the Blu-ray combo pack. That’s something to seriously consider.
Admittedly, this isn’t a movie for everyone. It wasn’t rated highly. However, audiences were nicer about it than the critics, giving it a 53% score vs. a 20% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie attempts to bring the stage production to live on the screen. Sadly, it doesn’t quite capture the magic that the Broadway production offers, which is where it lost a lot of critics. However, it does have an excellent cast that should have pulled it off, including Judi Dench, Idris Elba, and Taylor Swift.
