Will Cats be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video?

Looking to watch Cats from the comfort of your own home? You may want to stream it on a device. Will Cats be on Amazon Prime Video in the future?

Every year, there tends to be a musical movie released. Cats was the big one of 2019, but it wasn’t the success the production companies would have hoped for. For those who like to wait for movies to come to streaming services to give them a try, you’re likely looking at where this musical movie will stream. Will Cats be on Amazon Prime Video?

You’re not going to be able to watch the movie for free on Prime. At least not right away! As a Universal Pictures distributed movie, it’s highly likely that it will head to HBO first.

There is some good news that comes with this. You’ll likely already have HBO through Amazon Channels. If not, you’ll be able to grab the channel add-on as soon as the movie is released. There’s a seven-day free trial. You’ll want to wait six to eight months for the movie to head to HBO, so we’re looking at June to August 2020 for the release.

Cats will head to DVD and Blu-ray first. It will also head to Amazon Video for rent or purchase, which is great if you know you want to keep the movie at home. Remember that movies don’t remain on streaming services forever. Just recently, Disney+ removed Christmas movies like Home Alone off the service (probably until next year).

There is a chance in the future that Amazon gains some streaming rights to the movie. That’s not going to be for a few years, though.
