Harriet is among the list of DVD and Blu-ray releases this week. Here are four movies you need to get on DVD or Blu-ray on Jan. 28.

There are many great movies and TV shows heading to DVD and Blu-ray on the last Tuesday in January. Whether you want a TV crime drama or an excellent historical movie, you’re covered. Not sure what you should buy? Here are four movies that you’ll want to grab on Jan. 28.

Harriet

Let’s start with the historical movie that is a must-watch. Harriet offers a chance to learn more about Harriet Tubman, the woman who helped run the Underground Railroad. Born into slavery, she wasn’t going to let that hold her back. She escaped and then helped fellow slaves escape and head to the parts of the country that had abolished slavery.

She’s an American hero, but one often overlooked. Timeless devoted an episode to her, and now there’s a movie that something for everyone. Don’t let her be forgotten.

Motherless Brooklyn

When it comes to noir movies, they can be hit or miss. And they’re certainly not for everyone. However, Motherless Brooklyn is one that you’ll want to check out. Starring Edward Norton, it was also written by him and based on the novel of the same name. Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of a private investigator with Tourettes Syndrome.

It’s a beautiful tale but certainly has some darker moments. Whether you love noir or not, it’s worth checking out Norton’s passion project that has been decades in the making.

Terminator: Dark Fate

There have been many classic movie reboots and revivals in the last couple of years. Terminator: Dark Fate is one of the latest now on DVD and Blu-ray. You’ll want to own it if you’re a huge fan of the original movies.

Sarah Connor is back. This time, she needs to help protect a young girl who may hold the key to a better future. You know that means some deadly cyber forces are out to get her.

Parasite

Recently nominated for Academy Awards, Parasite is a movie that you’ll want to check out. And it’s coming to DVD and Blu-ray on Jan. 28. It is a foreign language movie, but don’t let that put you off. Kim Ki-taek and his family live in a dirty basement apartment, making just enough money to survive. The don’t put too much effort into working low-paid jobs. However, when Ki-taek’s son is offered something that could change the lives of everyone, it’s hard to pass up and he’s more than willing to manipulate things to get his family hired at the same time.
