A24 is killing it with its releases, and Midsommar is no exception. It has certainly earned its place on the list of 50 best movies on Amazon Prime Video.

Ready for something else to watch on Amazon Prime Video? Midsommar joined the streaming service earlier this month, and now it’s officially on the list of 50 best movies on Amazon Prime Video.

But why does Midsommar belong on the list? This A24 movie certainly shows off why Florence Pugh is a force to be reckoned with. On top of that, we find out why Ari Aster is most definitely a director to keep a close eye on.

Midsommar sees a couple head on a summer vacation. It’s supposed to be a chance to visit a friend’s Swedish rural hometown, famous for its midsummer festival. The idyllic retreat soon proves to be anything other than that, as it becomes a violent and bizarre competition all because of a pagan cult.

The movie certainly gained a lot of praise from the critics, being Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. While a thrilling horror, it’s also beautifully crafted and something that you need to watch at least once.
