The reboot is one of those that you either like or don’t like. There’s not really a middle ground, and, arguably, there’s nothing to really overly love or hate about it. Honestly, there are a lot of questions about whether the reboot was needed, but if you like the modern take, then you’re going to want to own it.

Audiences liked it more than critics, which isn’t all that surprising with reboot movies. Critics tend to go in with prejudged thoughts and it’s hard to get them out of that mindset. On Rotten Tomatoes, the overall score is 53% for critics and 78% for audiences. Which camp are you in?

The problem for many is that while the movie is energetic, it tends to be uneven. It’s not Elizabeth Banks’ best work as a director, but it’s a fun Friday night movie when you’re in with the girls.
