Amazon Prime Video gets an updated look on Fire TV
Amazon Prime Video has received a facelift on Fire TV. Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s fresh, and what’s great about this modern look.
Fire TV users logged in today to find out that Amazon Prime Video has received a facelift. It’s a change that has happened slowly over other devices to watch the streamer, and prove that the company wants to step into the modern day.
Cord Cutters News shared the information about the update, including a screenshot of what you’ll see now. There’s a large image at the top to feature the latest top show available and then smaller images to pick the TV show or movie that you want to watch.

Viewers can now also add content to “My Stuff,” which will feature downloads, anything on the watchlist, and anything that has been purchased via Amazon Video.
Android and Fire Tablets had already seen the changes happen. The style is very much like when you log into Prime Video from a computer.
In fact, Netflix subscribers will also get a sense of deja vu. This is a very similar set up with the large image at the top to promote something specific. That image can turn into a video, too, sharing the promo for the show or movie, something that Netflix does.
Something that is still missing is a “Continue Watching” section. It’s not always easy to find the TV shows that you have watched in the past and then drifted away from. Or those that you just haven’t had the time to continue watching because new shows have come out. Then there are those shows that you rewatch in your downtime while waiting for new episodes of your other favorite shows.
However, the “Watch Next” carousel sits just under the large image at the top. This recommends TV shows and movies that you’re likely to enjoy based on previous content and promotes some of the newest releases that Amazon really wants you to check out.
