Christmas Day is here, and you’re likely looking for something for everyone to watch. Amazon is a great place for good TV, and here are five shows to watch.

When you start looking at Amazon Prime Video carefully enough, you’ll see some excellent TV shows old and new. There are some awesome Amazon Originals, but the streamer also has some great, not-to-be-missed third party shows. We have a mixture of options on this list of five shows to watch on Christmas Day 2019.

Each of the shows on this list is available with your Prime membership. Christmas is expensive enough. You don’t need to spend more on buying episodes of good TV shows.

5. Vikings

If you love period dramas like The Last Kingdom or you love fantasy like Game of Thrones, you’ll want to turn to Vikings on Amazon Prime. The series has all five current seasons on the service, and the sixth and final season will follow soon.

The series follows Ragnar Lothbrok, who wants to explore everything west of Norway. The Vikings head to England, where they learn more about a new culture and religion. This is perfect for this time of year as there are focuses on family and the Norwegian setting will suit the cold outside.

4. Modern Love

Need a rom-com? Amazon Prime Video has you covered with the Amazon Original Modern Love. It’s an anthology series, telling individual stories with each episode. My favorite is Anne Hathaway’s episode, and she certainly should have received a Golden Globe nod.

You can stream all eight episodes of Modern Love right now. The good news is there’s more to come.

3. Friday Night Lights

Yes, Friday Night Lights is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Reminisce back to the past with your family as you watch the popular high school football series. There’s never quite been something like it since, has there?

Didn’t get to watch it when it first aired? That’s what’s so great about streaming services. Friday Night Lights follows Coach Eri Taylor who has been ousted as Dillon High’s football coach. Now he needs to build up a new team from the ground at East Dillon. Meanwhile, his wife deals with the challenges of being principal at West Dillon and the blowback from parents zoned out from West Dillon.

2. Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is a must-watch, and that’s been confirmed with the success of the 2019 movie. You can watch all seasons of the TV series on Amazon Prime Video. There are a few Christmas specials thrown in, which will make the perfect Christmas viewing.

The series follows the Crawley family in 1910s, a time of revolution. The upper class are starting to face troubling times, including the First World War and the Irish’s attempts to overthrow the status quo. Can the Crawleys find a way to fit in?

1. Undone

When you need a short series, Undone is the place to turn. This isn’t a one-and-done show, but there is only one season currently available. Now is the perfect time to stream ready for the release of the second season sometime next year.

Undone focuses on Alma, a 28-year-old who gets into a serious car accident. While in the hospital, she starts seeing her deceased father and finds out she has the ability to warp space and time. Could she change history and bring her father back from the dead?
