Looking for something good to watch on Christmas Eve? Look no further than Amazon with these five great Amazon shows to tuck into.

Christmas Eve is usually the time many of us will snuggle up on the couch together and watch our favorite movies and shows. But what about when you want to watch something different? Something you’ve been waiting to check out? Or what about when you want something you can have on in the background while you wrap presents? Amazon is the perfect spot.

There are some excellent TV shows on Amazon right now. In fact, 2019 has seen the release of excellent originals that leave you wanting more. And in many cases, we are getting more. Not sure where to start? Here are five Amazon shows to check out on Christmas Eve.

I will admit that they’re not family-friendly. Best to put them on when the kids are tucked up waiting for Santa.

5. The Tick

When it comes to superhero shows, The Tick is one that you want to check out. Based on the comics by Ben Edlund, the writer himself crafted the Amazon Original that ran for two seasons. Sadly, it was canceled after the second season earlier this year.

That being said, this is a comedic series that focuses on partnership and character growth. When you want something funny while you write gifts, this is perfect.

4. Made in Heaven

It may not be wedding season, but this Indian Amazon Original is a must-watch. It’s modern and unapologetically funny, focusing on just how big Indian weddings need to be. The wedding is th way to show off fortune.

Two wedding planners are trying to keep their business afloat, which means doing something that they don’t have the service for. How badly will it backfire, especially as they’re trying to figure out their own lives?

3. Forever

Sometimes, you find a relationship gets stuck in a rut. That’s how June feels in her marriage to Fred. After 12 years, they do the same things, go to the same places, and live the exact same life. When June wants a change, she suggests they head to a ski resort instead of their usual cabin vacation.

That leads to a series of events that will completely change her life forever. And then there’s the aftermath that puts her relationship with Fred to the test. There may only be one season, but Forever is a must for Christmas Eve. In fact, with just one season, it’s the perfect binge-watch.

2. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

There’s only one dramedy that stands out for Christmas Eve viewing. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is hilarious. It also starts on Hanukkah, the Jewish celebration around the same time of Christmas and New Year. This year, Hanukkah begins on Dec. 22, so Christmas Eve is an excellent time to watch this comedic show.

The night before Hanukkah, Midge learns that her husband is leaving her for his secretary. Her whole life comes crashing down, but she’s determined to pick herself back up again. How does she do that? Well, she finds out she has a skill for and interest in stand-up comedy. And so starts her journey to become an independent woman in the 1950s.

1. Carnival Row

Finally, it’s all about one of the newest shows to come to Amazon Prime Video. Carnival Row is a beautiful tale of love, but it’s also a dark tale of refuge, segregation, and discrimination. It’s a story of magical creatures and humans, struggling to live side-by-side after the magical homeland was destroyed in a war.

The first season sets the stage. We meet the characters and get to know the world. It’s a magnificent tale, and wholly original. This is the series to stream this Christmas Eve, while we wait for the second season sometime in 2020.
