Will Bombshell be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video?
By Mads Lennon
Bombshell is one of the buzziest movies this December. Will you be able to stream the film for free on Amazon Prime Video?
Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie lead the cast of the drama film, Bombshell. The movie dissects the sexist environment at Fox News and the conditions that led to the eventual ousting of former CEO Roger Ailes.
Kidman plays Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson who first sued Ailes for alleged sexual harassment against her. After Carlson came forward, several other women eventually did at the network as well, including Megyn Kelly (Theron). Both Robbie and Theron have already received several award nominations this season, including Golden Globe nods. It is likely they will be nominated at the upcoming Academy Awards as well.

If you’re hoping to watch Bombshell from the comfort of your own home with your Amazon Prime account, then you’re in luck! As a Lionsgate movie, there is a good chance Bombshell will come to Amazon Prime. Some Lionsgate movies go to HBO but the other thing Bombshell has going for it is Theron’s own production company, Denver and Delilah. Previous Denver and Delilah movies like Gringo and A Private War are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
However, it does get a little complicated. Lionsgate is only distributing Bombshell, not producing it. Long Shot was in a similar situation, it was also a Theron film produced by Denver and Delilah but Long Shot went to HBO.
On the flipside, 2019 film The Kid was distributed only by Lionsgate and produced by a different company. The Kid arrived on Amazon Prime last week.
The odds are in our favor that Bombshell will land on Prime but if it doesn’t, there is still a good chance it will go to HBO, which means you can watch it through Amazon Video Channels. If it does come to Amazon, it probably won’t arrive until September of next year at the earliest.
