By Mads Lennon
Doctor Sleep is the highly-anticipated follow up to beloved horror classic, The Shining. When can you buy it on DVD, Blu-ray, and Amazon Video?
Little Danny Torrance isn’t so young anymore. Doctor Sleep is a follow-up to the horrifying Stephen King film from the 1980s, The Shining.
Doctor Sleep takes place several decades after the first film. Dan Torrance is still coping with his trauma over the events that once occurred at the Overlook Hotel. His troubles are far from over.
He meets another woman with the gift of the “shine.” Together they must work together to stop a cult known as the True Knot. The cult plans to feed off the “shine” in children to become immortal.

This movie is one horror fans have been eagerly awaiting all year. It helps that the film is directed by Mike Flanagan, who has been experiencing quite a career boost after the immense success of his Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.
There is no doubt fans of this movie will be eager to add it to their collection. It is being distributed by Warner Brothers like previous films The Goldfinch, IT Chapter Two, and Blinded by the Light. If Doctor Sleep follows the same trajectory as those movies, then it will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in three months. We estimate it will come out in the first half of February 2020.
In regards to its digital release date, Warner Brothers usually releases its films two weeks before they come out on DVD. Doctor Sleep will probably be available to purchase through Amazon Video at the end of January 2020 or the first few days of February.
