After a year of being the most sold book on Amazon, Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdads Sing has been knocked off. Here’s the Amazon books list for the week.

It was only a matter of time. Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdads Sing has been on the top of the list of most sold Amazon books for the last year. Now there’s a new top sold book in town. Here’s a look at the list for Sept. 15 to 21.

Two new releases displaced Where the Crawdads Sing. The top spot now belongs to Stephen King, who’s The Institute quickly gained a TV option. It did make it to the list for the first time the week before but climbed six spots to claim the No. 1 place.

Meanwhile, The Handmaid’s Tale sequel, The Testaments, by Margaret Atwood remains in second place, where it debuted last week. That meant Where the Crawdads Sing moved down two spots to claim third place. There is a chance it will move up again in the future, but it did have a great run!

The top five has been rounded out by two other big movers. Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale moved up two places to claim fourth place. Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch jumped up nine places to claim fifth place, proving a success after the movie release.

There were only two new additions to the list this week. Susan Stoker’s Claiming Sarah and Raina Telgemeier’s Guts entered towards the bottom of the list.

The list of most sold Amazon books also saw some big movers elsewhere, both up and down. The most notable has to be J.D. Robb’s Vendetta In Death, which dropped 16 places to No. 20.
