Could anything knock Where the Crawdads Sing off the top spot of the most sold Amazon books last week? Here’s the Top 20 from Aug. 4 to 12.

For almost a year, Where the Crawdads Sing has held the top spot in the Top 20 most sold Amazon books during the week. Would Aug. 4 to 12 be any different? No, but there is some movement elsewhere on the list.

While Delia Owens took the top spot, we did get to see some movement in the Top 10. Claire McGowan’s What You Did moved back up another place into third place, while three new books have entered in the Top 10, The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda, Here to Stay by Mark Edwards, and Dark Age by Pierce Brown.

More from Amazon Books

Some of the biggest movers were in the second half of the list. Summer of ‘69 dropped five spots with the new arrivals, with it and City of Girls just getting knocked out of the Top 10.

Lisa Wingate’s reentry from last week, Before We Were Yours, moved up fix spots and The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead moved up two spots. Both books made it into the Top 15.

The rest of the list has a good mixture of old and new. The Art of Racing in the Rain unsurprisingly has made it to the list for the first week. The movie based on the book is now out in theaters and we often see a drive in sales. Adventures of Tom Stranger also entered the list. This is an Audible book, which makes it a double interesting mention.

And we can’t overlook The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. The book has reentered the list, but surprisingly, this is only the third week ever that this book has made it to the most sold Amazon books! Considering the popularity of the Lord of the Rings franchise, this surprises me.
