A Quiet Place and Jack Ryan star, John Krasinski has inked a new first-look television deal with Amazon Studios for three years in total.
Deadline reports that John Krasinski has officially inked a three-year first-look television deal with Amazon Studios. The agreement comes after the successful debut of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan television series. Jack Ryan was renewed for a second season before it even aired and a third season shortly after.
Krasinski and his Sunday Night production team will work with Amazon to produce new television series for the streaming platform. His business partner, Allyson Seeger, and Sunday Night’s development executive, Alexa Ginsburg, will also work alongside Krasinski.
Head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke, had nothing but kind words to say about the new partnership, “With his incredible authenticity and versatility, John Krasinski has brought to life some of entertainment’s most recognizable roles, including our own hero, Jack Ryan.”
At present, Krasinski is currently working on A Quiet Place: Part II after the monumental success of the first film. A Quiet Place is also streaming on Amazon Prime right now.
In addition to creating what is sure to be another smash hit horror film, Krasinski will continue to executive produce and star in the upcoming second season of Jack Ryan. No word yet on when the new season will be released, but we can predict it will be sometime within the next year, hopefully in as little as the next few months.
This deal doesn’t come as too big of a surprise when you realize that Krasinski and Jennifer Salke have known each other for a long time. Also in Deadline’s article, he is quoted talking about their friendship from back in the days when he was starring as Jim Halpert on NBC’s beloved sitcom, The Office.
