Prime Day 2019 is just around the corner. It’s the perfect time to do some shopping on Amazon and here’s everything we know about it so far.

Every year, Amazon has some great deals available on Prime Day. The weekend for 2019 is just around the corner and it’s time to get everything in order to make sure you don’t miss out. While it runs July 15 to 16, the festivities for the “day” will start on July 10.

Prime Day concert at unknown location

More from Amazon

Things kick off on Wednesday, July 10 with the annual Prime Day concert. Taylor Swift will headline and Jane Lynch will host this New York City concert, with the exact location being kept a secret. Don’t worry if you can’t get there in person. You’ll be able to watch the whole concert live on Amazon Prime Video from 9 p.m. ET.

If you’re not able to watch live, certain acts from the concert will be available to stream afterward on Prime Video. However, this is only going to be available for a limited time, and Amazon isn’t sharing exactly how long “limited” means.

Make sure you’re an Amazon Prime member

This is a global event, but you’ll need to make sure you are a Prime member to take part in Prime Day 2019. The great news is that you can sign up for a 30-day free trial if you haven’t already signed up for Prime in the past. If you have, you have the choice of getting the monthly or the yearly membership. If you are only signing up for Prime Day deals, the monthly membership and canceling afterward is going to be your best bet.

The offers will be available for 48 hours from the event kickoff on July 15. You’ll find deals on all areas of the site, but the tech gadgets and Amazon’s own products tend to see the biggest discounts. There are plans for discounts on Audible memberships, along with extra credits, and Fire TV deals.

Other companies are also looking at hosting anti-Prime Day sales, including Wal-Mart, Google, and more big brands. You can find some heavy discounts on Google Home speakers and the new Nest products, for example.

Prime Deals of the Day already available

Amazon knows that its customers love a good bargain. That’s why there are always Deals of the Day. Right now, there are some excellent deals on Fire TV and the Ring Video Doorbell Pro. You can land $100 off the Fire TV recast or $150 off the Doorbell Pro with a free Echo Dot!

Other early offers include saving 30% off school essential and college items. This is the perfect time to start thinking about buying the Back to School supplies and not just because of Prime Day. Get them now before the stores run out.

There are also a number of deals on renting the Marvel movies, get in-game loot on Twitch, and even get the Echo Input at half price. This is all in the lead up to Prime Day 2019! There are so many other great offers on the day itself.

Watch out for the strikes

While Prime Day is great for customers, it’s important to look out for the upcoming planned Amazon worker strikes. European customers will be used to strikes happening on the bigger days. However, it’s not often for U.S. employees to walk out. There are planned strikes on the first day of the event according to Bloomberg, where you can find out more about the planned strikes.

Shakopee, Minnesota fulfillment center employees are planning a six-hour stoppage due to pay disputes and work satisfaction. This is just one fulfillment center out of about 100, but it could encourage others to walk out during the same time period elsewhere, which can cause problems for those taking advantage of one-day free shipping with Prime memberships.
