When will Dark Phoenix be available to buy on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Amazon Video?
By Mads Lennon
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is one of the most anticipated films of 2019, especially as it will close the Fox X-Men chapter. So when can you buy it on DVD?
Topping many of the most anticipated films of 2019 lists is X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The movie will tackle the infamous Dark Phoenix storyline from the comics. It centers around Jean Grey (played by Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner) as she wrestles with her dark inner persona, the Phoenix.
It’s not only this iconic story that has fans buzzing with anticipation, but this will also be the final X-Men film from Fox. Now that the Disney-Fox merger is complete, it is likely we won’t see the X-Men on the big screen again for several more years. When we do, they will probably be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and appear much different than the versions we’ve come to know.
Update: Check out Dark Phoenix’s confirmed DVD and Blu-ray release date.

The only other X-Men movie out there from Fox is The New Mutants, but at present, it sits in development hell and it is unknown if it will ever see the light of day.
Right now, Dark Phoenix has a pretty abysmal score of 23% on Rotten Tomatoes but avid comic book fans and superhero movie junkies won’t be stopped from seeing the film and buying it to add to their collection. Many of us are completionists at heart and it wouldn’t feel right to skip out on adding another Marvel movie to our Blu-Ray collection.
20th Century Fox’s previous two movies, Breakthrough and Alita: Battle Angel, took three to four months to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. Going by that, we can anticipate the physical release of Dark Phoenix to come out in late September or early October.
Breakthrough took three short months but Alita took about a full month longer. I would expect Dark Phoenix to follow more along with Alita’s track record as a fellow blockbuster film than the quieter mid-budget release of Breakthrough.
As for when it will release on Amazon Video, usually, Fox films come out two-three weeks ahead of the DVD/Blu-Ray date.
