The beginning of the end has started. Game of Thrones Season 8 is on HBO and now fans want to know when they’ll be able to own it at home. When will Game of Thrones Season 8 be on DVD and Blu-ray?

Right now, there isn’t a set date. All we can do is guestimate based on the releases of previous DVD boxsets. The release date has usually been based on the season finale date. Apart from Season 7, the boxsets have been available about five months after the season finale. For Season 7 it was four months to ensure the release was before Christmas, so HBO and Warner Bros. could make sure they cashed in on the holiday sales.

This season will likely run with the five-month gap again. The good news is the finale is a little earlier than normal, meaning we could see Game of Thrones Season 8 on DVD and Blu-ray as early as October 2019. This would be perfect timing to take advantage of other sales in the runup to Christmas, most specifically, the Black Friday sales in November.

The release of the full series boxset will also likely coincide with the release of Season 8. Some people will have waited the last eight years for the release of Game of Thrones: The Complete Series and a full-season boxset is tradition for all other shows when they come to an end. HBO and Warner Bos. will want to make sure this is available for fans.
