When a couple dies in a car accident, they find themselves stuck in their country home as ghosts. However, they soon find their home taken over by developers, threatening to destroy the whole town for a quick buck. The only way to save it is by bringing one of the least trustworthy ghouls to the place to scare them away.

Beetlejuice gained a cult following. While there were attempts at a Broadway production and there was a TV show developed, nothing was quite as good as the original movie. There have been attempts at sequels over the years but it’s not happened yet. It would be interesting to see if Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder would return to the sequel.
It’s an absolutely bizarre movie but one that you’ll want to watch over and over again. It still holds a Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% from the critics, making it Certified Fresh. The audience is extremely close with an 82% approval rating, showing just how good the movie is and why it deserves to be on this list.
