Amazon Prime and Netflix reportedly merging to combat other streaming services
Amazon Prime and Netflix are reportedly merging in an effort to combat against other streaming services. Could it be the two companies are scared?
Unconfirmed sources have noted that Amazon Prime and Netflix are scared of the upcoming competition in the form of Disney+, Apple TV+, and WarnerMedia’s streaming service. Instead of waiting it out and testing the waters, they’re taking preemptive action and are combining their services.
The two companies have tried to put on a brave face, taunting that the other companies are too late into the game. However, they know that timing doesn’t matter. The likes of Disney and Apple already have a strong and loyal customer base that neither service has had the time to build up for themselves.

This move means that all Netflix Originals and all Prime Originals will be available on either service. The best part is you can keep your current subscriptions. Your Netflix login will work on Amazon Prime Video and vice versa.
Subscriber of both? You can cancel one of them. It’s up to you which one, but there will be perks if you subscribe through Amazon.
Amazon has certainly come out on top of this, though. Only the Prime Video service will be available through a Netflix subscription. If you go directly to Amazon, you’ll get all the Prime membership benefits you can currently get, plus the Netflix subscription added on as a free Amazon Channel.
“We think this is the best offering for our loyal Amazon customers,” an unnamed source from Amazon reportedly stated, “There are so many businesses that will entice new customers in but we believe in rewarding loyalty.”

“It was the best deal we could get,” a Netflix insider, who wished to remain nameless, announced, “We need to combat against Disney and Warner. Subscriptions are already at an all-time low with Disney removing content and the fear of Warner Bros. content being removed and this is before either service is up and running! Netflix has no hope if it doesn’t adapt.”
The kicker is the merger isn’t going to happen for another five years. That’s because this is an April Fools’ and it’s clear that Amazon and Netflix really aren’t worried about the upcoming streaming services because they’re bringing out more of their own original content. This is just a lesson to watch out for what you believe today!
