Amazon takes another step into healthcare by accepting FSA and HSA cards

Amazon has officially begun to accept health savings accounts as a form of payment, giving new parents, allergy sufferers, and others more options.

One of the benefits employees get to help offset the cost of healthcare and taxes are FSA (flexible savings accounts) and HSA (health saving account) cards. They allow people to put pre-tax money on the cards in order to pay medical expenses. Many of the expenses tend to be co-payments on insurance, over-the-counter medicines, testings, airfare for medical treatments, and so much more. Turns out Amazon is now accepting FSA and HSA cards as a form of payment.

While Amazon was FSA and HSA eligible, buyers would have to submit receipts for reimbursement to get the money. This makes everything a whole lot easier.

One of the biggest and wealthiest markets in the country revolves around healthcare. Amazon has made a push into the healthcare market by selling medical devices and buying an online pharmacy storefront, PillPack.

This is just another step for the internet giant to gain a foothold in the sector. It’s also a way to learn more about the purchase habits of their customers, which has been invaluable data for Amazon.

There are so many everyday items that it really helps people such as parents, those with chronic medical conditions, and even someone with an everyday occurrence like allergies or headaches. It doesn’t end there with hundreds of not thousands of items that are eligible to be used through these services.

As a mom, these types of cards have really come in handy. The money placed is pre-taxed, helping save in the long run on end of the year taxes. You’re able to pick up thermometers, sunscreen, breastfeeding equipment and so much more.
