Isa Dick Hackett expands relationship with Amazon Studios
Isa Dick Hackett has brought us The Man in the High Castle and Electic Dreams. Now it’s time for her to expand her relationship with Amazon Studios.
The Man in the High Castle and Electric Dreams wouldn’t have come to Amazon Prime Video in the way it has without Isa Dick Hackett behind the scenes. She’s not going anywhere for the time being, as she expands her relationship with Amazon Studios.
Deadline reports she’s inked a first-look deal with the Studios, which means that any ideas she has and any programs she wants to create will go to Amazon first. The Studio has a first right of refusal and, after that, she can take them to other production companies.

This is excellent for Amazon Studios. The Man in the High Castle is currently filming Season 4, which will come to Amazon exclusively sometime in the future and Electric Dreams proved to be a successful anthology series. However, there are far more books to adapt. Hackett is the CEO and co-founder of Electric Sheppard Productions, which is dedicated to bringing Hackett’s father’s works to life.
With the expanding relationship, Hackett promises to bring more tales to life. Amazon Prime Video has proven to be a successful home for novel adaptations so far and this is going to be a chance to see more. It’s unlikely we’ll see Amazon pass up on many of them.
Many books have already been adapted into movies — and you may not even realize they are adaptations! Total Recall and Blade Runner are among the list of movie adaptations but there’s nothing to stop them from being developed into new shows. If not, there are many other books in the library, including some unpublished works that, as the daughter of Philip K. Dick, Hackett will have access to.
