Can you believe we’re heading into a new year? It only seems like yesterday January 2018 started. Well, now it’s time to look at the amazing content dropping on Amazon Prime Video in January 2019.

Not only is it time for a new month, but we’re heading into a new year. It only seems like yesterday that it was Jan. 1, 2018, and now I’m looking at everything dropping on Amazon Prime Video in January 2019.

All content on this list is available with your Prime membership in the United States. There’s a good amount of high-quality movies and TV shows, whether you’re looking for Hollywood hits or for the best Prime Originals.

Notable mentions in January 2019

Before giving the full list, I like to make note of some of the bigger mentions. You’ll know from a recent post that Beautiful Boy is dropping on the service at the start of the month. The movie starring Steven Carell and Timothée Chalamet as David and Nic Sheff, the story is one of family and how drug addiction and recovery affects all.

The Grand Tour Season 3 is also finally coming to Prime. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are back in the driving seats and up to their usual antics. One of those antics involves an extremely rickety bridge that you can see Hammond visibly shaking over as he crosses.

When it comes to something for the children, look out for Sherlock Gnomes coming to the service. It’s the sequel to Gnomeo and Juliet and just as sweet and funny. Honestly, the kids are going to adore it. Expect to have it on over and over again!

One of 2018’s biggest movies, Eighth Grade, is also dropping on the service this month. Elsie Fisher is 13-year-old Kayla, who is in her last week of eighth grade — possibly the most disastrous eighth grade in history.
