What’s new on Amazon Prime Video this week, Oct. 22-26
Amazon Prime Video has new releases between Oct. 22 and 26. Here’s what you can watch if you’re done with the beginning of the month drops.
October 2018 has brought a good list of content to Amazon Prime Video. It’s been a lot of horror, with plenty of Prime Originals thrown in. So far, my favorites have been The Man in the High Castle Season 3 and Lore Season 2. But we’re looking ahead to this week. What’s new on Amazon Prime Video between Oct. 22 and 26?
There are three new movies dropping on the service as part of your Prime membership. One of those is a Prime Original movie that is definitely a must-watch. I’ll bring my review of it later this week. There’s also a new movie dropping on Amazon for purchase this week.
Here’s a look at everything new you can watch this week on Amazon Prime Video. Are you ready?
BlacKkKlansman
When it comes to renting and purchasing, BlacKkKlansman is dropping on the service digitally this week. Ahead of the Blu-Ray and DVD release, you can catch the dark comedy in all its glory.

Based on a true story and directed by the legend that is Spike Lee, John David Washington stars as Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs PD. Set in the early 70s, Ron is determined to prove that he is a man worth having on the force and decides to infiltrate and take down the KKK.
How can he do that when he’s black? That’s where Adam Driver comes into play, his seasoned colleague Flip Zimmerman. As Ron does the phone work, Flip will be the white face necessary.
BlacKkKlansman is available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 23.
Daddy’s Home 2
If you loved Daddy’s Home, then you’ll want to check out the sequel to it. Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are back. This time Dusty and Brad are friends, but could that change when their own fathers come to town? It’s soon clear just where their personalities adapted from.
Dusty’s dad, Kurt, played by Mel Gibson, is the old-school macho man. Meanwhile, Brad’s father, Jonah, played by John Lithgow, is the kind-hearted, warm father-figure. The two help to turn Christmas upside down, making it hard for Brad and Dusty to do anything.
Daddy’s Home 2 has received mixed reviews, but it’s the perfect movie when you don’t want the horrors of Halloween.
Daddy’s Home 2 is available with your Prime membership on Oct. 25.
Bad Samaritan
It’s time to get a thriller on Amazon Prime Video. Bad Samaritan stars David Tennant and Robert Sheehan and will certainly make you question everyone you meet. When a young valet, Sean, breaks into a man’s home, he finds a woman gagged and chained. Sure, he does what anyone would do: runs away and calls the police.
This is when the horror starts for Sean. That man, Cale, knows someone has been in his house and immediately turns his attention to Sean. It doesn’t help that Sean decides he wants to save the young victim, putting himself in the hands of the psychopath.
If you’ve only seen David Tennant in Doctor Who, this is going to certainly prove him acting skills to you. Get ready for someone just like Killgrave in Jessica Jones.
Bad Samaritan is on Amazon Prime Video with your membership on Oct. 26.
You Were Never Really Here
Finally, it’s all about the Prime Original movie, You Were Never Really Here. The movie has already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to raving reviews and now it’s making its way to its worldwide release on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Joaquin Phoenix in a role that was made for him, the movie tells the story of a jaded veteran, who has far more secrets than he’s willing to let on.
When a teenage girl goes missing, Joe is sent on the rescue mission. However, he soon realizes there’s a history and conspiracy of abuse and corruption. It leads to not just the initial rescue mission but something bigger. Can he get out of this alive and still make it look like he was never there?
You Were Never Really Here drops on Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 26.
