NYCC 2018: Everything Amazon did and offered during the weekend
Amazon made sure it was known while at NYCC 2018. Here’s a roundup of everything that happened, including The Man in the High Castle panel, Lore Season 2 discussions, and the Good Omen experience.
If you were at NYCC 2018, you couldn’t miss Amazon. It was there all weekend through four different Prime Originals. Everything kickstarted on Thursday with The Man in the High Castle Season 3 premiere screening and included a special surprise from Neil Gaiman at the Good Omens experience.
Those who couldn’t make it don’t need to feel left out. I’ll bring you everything I can from the press rooms and panels at NYCC 2018 over the next week, including the interviews from the cast and showrunners of various shows. For now, it’s all about the roundup of the events that happened.

Thursday was all about The Man in the High Castle. As a special treat for those who could make it, the premiere was screened just hours before everyone else would get it on Amazon Prime Video. After the screening, fans heard of what they should expect from the season, as well as a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of The Man in the High Castle Season 4.
Yes, the show is currently filming the fourth season. The clip gave away some of the characters who would make it through this third season, so for those who haven’t binged all 10 episodes yet, I’m not going to say who was in it just yet.
Lore Season 2 exclusive clips
Friday was the day for Lore and The Boys. For those at the panel for the anthology series based on true stories and folklore, there were three exclusive clips shared. They came from the episodes “Hinterkaifeck: Ghosts in the Attic,” “Jack Parsons: The Devil and the Divine,” and “Prague Clock: The Curse of the Orloj.”
After the panel, I got the chance to chat to four of the actors, the EPs, showrunners, and Aaron Mahnke who is the narrator of the series. Other episodes will include the stories on Burke and Hare and Elizabeth Bathory.
The Boys also took to the stage at NYCC 2018, sharing what to expect from the comic adaptation. This was a chance to meet some of the cast and the showrunners, as they made it clear that this is not going to be your typical superhero story.
In this tale, the superheroes are kind of the villains. They’ve given into the life of fame and fortune and it’s up to the vigilantes known as “The Boys” to take them down. Simon Pegg surprised all by appearing at the panel, where it was also announced that he would play the father of Hughie on the series.
Good Omens creator surprises fans
Saturday saw the panel and press room for Good Omens, the second of two new shows on Amazon Prime Video next year that had spots at NYCC 2018. However, throughout the weekend, fans had the chance to go through “The End is Nigh” experience.
During the experience, fans walked into the elevator and were taken to either Heaven or Hell. Where would you spend eternity?
Some special fans were surprised to see Neil Gaiman at the Good Omen experience. The elevator doors opened and fans were welcomed into the elevator in by the creator of the series.
Don’t forget Audible’s Harry Potter experience
It’s easy to overlook the fact that Harry Potter was part of the Amazon lineup. That’s because it was there as an experience that Amazon’s Audible and Pottermore Publishing ran together. Fans had the chance to relive the memories of one of their six favorite characters. I can tell you now that the line was never empty!
