Blake Lively may have just woken up to hear about it, but Amazon’s Jennifer Salke says the Gossip Girl actress will bring a scripted show to the company.

Jennifer Salke is all about moving Amazon forward in a positive direction. It’s not surprising, then, to find out she’s looking at more scripted original shows for the company. One of those scripted shows is going to come from Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively, who may have only just woken up to the information!

According to Deadline, Salke and Lively have recently talked about a new show. It will be culturally relevant (which isn’t surprising considering how on-point Lively is with the current cultural climate) and will also offer merchandising material. It’s clear that Salke isn’t just looking at TV show viewing figures, but the ability to expand because that’s how shows and movies can keep going.

There’s no information on what this scripted show is going to be about. The idea of culturally relevant suggests that it could be focused on women in business, something that Lively is passionate about. She is also passionate about strong and empowering females.

The idea is still in the discussions phase. All Salke has said is that the business affairs component of the company now understands the plan. It’s just the latest in a selection of titles and ideas coming to the service, with one of the most recent being the adaptation of A Wheel of Time.

Lively stunned audiences as Serena Van der Woodsen in The CW’s Gossip Girl, one of a small number of shows that moved across from the WB when merging with UPN. She brought out a lifestyle website, but that closed down recently and she’s returned to acting, starring opposite Anna Kendrick in A Simple Favor. Now it looks like she’s heading behind the camera in her latest venture.
