Even after Amazon’s recall on eclipse glasses, you can still buy a pair of solar eclipse glasses on Amazon before the eclipse on August 21.

If you bought a pair of special eclipse glasses on Amazon, you might need to order a new pair! According to a report from KGW Portland, Amazon has issued a recall on eclipse glasses that the company could not verify. Don’t worry, though, there’s still time to buy an approved pair!

As I’m sure you have heard, you need special glasses to look into the sun during the eclipse to prevent being blinded by the sun. Amazon has sent emails notifying customers who bought the glasses in question about the recall. If you bought a pair of eclipse glasses on Amazon and did not receive an email, you are probably good to go, but you should double-check to make sure your glasses were not on the recall list.

Basically, it seems like Amazon is taking the safest possible approach here. It would be horrible if someone was injured because of faulty glasses, and the retailer must protect themselves against that happening.

More from Amazon

At this point, it’s unclear whether or not those glasses are safe or unsafe. Many of the manufacturers are claiming they are safe, but Amazon was not able to approve them, and that’s where the issues began.

Ultimately, it’s disappointing for those who bought those glasses with the hope they could use them to watch the eclipse. According to KGW, many customers are still looking for eclipse glasses, and Amazon is running out.

We have listed some of the approved eclipse glasses on Amazon. If you order now, hopefully, the glasses will be there by the time the eclipse happens on Aug. 21.
