The Nintendo Classic Edition has been discontinued but you can still get your hands on the nostalgic console through third party sellers on Amazon.

Late last year, Nintendo announced plans to sell a classic console that was nearly identical to the model first sold in the late 80s and early 90s. The console came with 30 games built in and included notable titles like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Donkey Kong.

From the moment the console was on sale, consumers from all over the world couldn’t wait to get their hands on the gaming console and play the games of their youth. As a result of the high demand and low supply for the console, many customers were unable to get their hands on the classic Nintendo. After promises of getting a second wave of units, more and more consumers were still unable to get their own.

The incredibly high demand should have been something they saw coming. It was disappointing the buying experience wasn’t more efficient and satisfying. The worst thing that happened from this is now Nintendo is discontinuing the product. That doesn’t make much business sense to me, but if you’re one of the countless people who was unsuccessful in getting the console, you’re not entirely out of luck just yet.

More from Amazon

There are a few Nintendo Classic Editions being sold on Amazon through third-party sellers. This is not to be confused with Amazon selling the console as these are people who likely have multiple consoles and are looking to make a pretty profit by selling to those who weren’t so lucky.

The price will be far higher than the retail price with the markup as high as five times what you’d pay from the retailer. However, if you’re a hardcore gamer who really wants this, paying $300 for the Nintendo Classic Edition may be worth the investment.

After all, when they’re all sold, there won’t be anymore. At least, not until Christmas time when I’m anticipating a special release of the console in an effort to get more money from consumers.
