Amazon announces 8-day plan for Black Friday deals
By Bryce Olin
It’s that time of the season over at Amazon!
Since November 1, Amazon has been featuring thousands of deals in their Black Friday deals store, which was supposed to act as the countdown to Black Friday week. Basically, it just turned into Black Friday-type deals and savings all month long.
In a press release on Wednesday, Nov. 18, Amazon announced their plan for their eight days of Black Friday week deals, according to a report from Yahoo and BGR.

Beginning on Friday, Nov. 20, Amazon will kick off their official Black Friday sales. Those sales will last through Black Friday, Nov. 27.
The crazy part of the announcement is that Amazon will be offering deals every five minutes leading into Black Friday. While it’s convenient, it does take some research to find out when the best deals will be offered and how long they will be available.

Some of Amazon’s Black Friday deals will only be offered through the Amazon app. And, as always, Amazon Prime subscribers will get access to “lightning deals,” which gives them the opportunity to access select deals 30 minutes before the rest of Amazon’s customers, according to Yahoo.
To help out customers, on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Amazon will publish their “Top 10 Most Coveted Deals,” according to the report.
Obviously, Amazon is taking the angle that works best for them and is most convenient for their customers. You don’t have to the leave the house to take advantage of thousands of deals, and that statement was echoed by Amazon VP Steve Schur, via Yahoo/BGR:
"“Customers can truly sit back and relax with their family and friends this holiday season knowing that they will be notified as soon as the products they’ve had their eye on are about to go on sale,” said Steve Shure, Vice President, Amazon Consumer Marketing. “Year after year, more and more customers shop for deals on Amazon from the comfort of their own home, and we continue to make that process even more convenient for them. And with App Only Deals, customers will have plenty of options when it comes to scoring great deals from Amazon.”"
