After he walks out, Midge decides to find herself. She needs to figure out who she is as not a housewife and that leads to a passion of standup comedy. Deciding to keep it a secret from her family, Midge becomes friends with Susie, who bails her out of jail after her first night on stage and becomes her manager.

With incredible performances from all involved, there’s no doubt that this is a series you need to watch. While it’s focused on a woman finding herself initially, the second season has developed other characters. There’s still a way to go for her ex-in-laws, but Midge’s parents gained far more and it’s time Tony Shaloub got an Emmy or Golden Globe win for his acting.
