Why did Amazon cancel With Love after two wonderful seasons?
When it comes to shows that we definitely needed more of, With Love was one of them. This was far more than just another romance.
The series focused on the Diaz siblings. They were both unlucky in love. That is until they weren’t. Jorge Jr. needed to figure out life with Henry, who proved to be just the type of man he was looking for. However, things weren’t easy, especially in the second season as they planned a wedding and Jorge Jr. finally met Henry’s parents.
Then there was Lily, who struggled with love. She thought she had it all with Santiago, but things didn’t work out. Then she gained feelings for Jorge’s best friend, Nick. Lily realized that she would need to choose between the two men in her life, and that would mean a broken heart.
Why did Amazon cancel With Love?
Amazon never did give a full reason why for the cancellation. There is always one thing when it comes to shows, though: it’s all about viewership. There’s a chance that despite the positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, this series didn’t get the viewership needed during the second season.
Now, let’s be honest here; the timing of the release was bad. It was in the middle of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which meant the actors and the show weren’t allowed to promote the release. It was all on Amazon, and we know what streamers are like for promoting shows. They’re not the best when it’s not for their big releases like The Boys and Reacher. With Love arguably didn’t stand a chance.
It was an unfair and unjust cancellation. Sadly, we’re left with a lot of questions. We’re also left with a lot less diversity on the network—something that we need, especially right now. Amazon should really reverse the decision, we think.
With Love is available to stream on Prime Video.
