How much do we really know about Vought? That’s something The Boys prequel spin-off series is about to tell us.

Yes, we’re getting a prequel spin-off series. This seems to be the way to do spin-offs right now. Just look at Outlander, NCIS, Dexter, and more getting them. Fans want to see the beginning. They want to see how characters got their start. In the case of The Boys, they want to know how Vought started.

What’s the title of The Boys prequel spin-off?

During SDCC, Eric Kripke confirmed that the prequel series will happen. It’s titled Vought Rising, and it will take us back to the 1950s.

It’s not all new characters, though. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Only, Stormfront isn’t what she is known as today. She is Clara Vought in the 1950s. Both Ackles and Cash are also producers on the new series, according to TVLine.

Learning about the origins of Vought International

We already know a few things about Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Cash was introduced as Stormfront in The Boys Season 2, and we quickly learned that she had a dark secret. She married Vought, and she was a Nazi during World War II. She isn’t able to grow old or die, but she did have a daughter in the past. That daughter didn’t end up with powers.

We also learned that Stormfront was Liberty back in the day. And before that, she was Klara Rising, a woman who appeared in her late 20s or early 30s and didn’t physically age. By 1922, Klara was seen at various Nazi social gatherings, and she married Frederick Vought, who gave her the first successful Compound V injections.

The two then oved to America as part of Operation Paperclip near the end of World War II. Klara became known as Adele Vought to hide her real identity, and became Liberty as a superhero in the 1950s. It looks like this is where we’re picking up the story.

After all, it was in the 1950s when Liberty and Soldier Boy met. The two co-founded the 1952 event “Herogasm,” which would become an annual event where superheroes would participate in a large orgy. The two also had a fling, but it’s not clear if there was more to their relationship. We could certainly see that playing out throughout the new prequel series.

As for Soldier Boy, we know he led Payback back in the day. This was the precursor to The Seven, so it’s likely that we’ll see the formation of Payback. Or at least talk of Payback being formed. After all, it was Payback that arguably made Vought into the international powerhouse that it is in The Boys now.
