The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 won't arrive until 2025 but it'll be longer
It’s all about Amazon shows on Tuesday, May 14. With the Amazon Upfronts, we get to find out which shows are renewed, when they’re coming back, and more. The Summer I Turned Pretty is on the list as we get ready for Season 3.
As we started to suspect, Amazon is holding the third season of the Jenny Han book adaptation series until 2025. This isn’t too surprising when you consider the strike action from last summer. It meant writing work couldn’t start and that delayed production work (which was also delayed due to the strikes).
The great news is production is now underway. We don’t know when in 2025 the season will drop, but hopefully we won’t need to wait until the summer just because the season is in the title.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is longer than the rest
To make up for the delay, we will have more episodes to work through in Season 3. Deadline confirms that The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 will have 11 episodes.
The first season only had seven episodes, and the second season had eight. This is great news for those ready to see just how it all plays out for Belly, Jeremiah, Conrad, and all the others who meet at Cousins Beach for the summer.
Will The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 be the last?
What isn’t clear is if this is going to be the final season. Amazon hasn’t officially confirmed that, despite there only being three books in the Summer series by Jenny Han. With Han being an integral part of the adaptation of the series, it does open the door to allow more stories, but we are getting ready for the show to end where the books end.
For those who haven’t read the books, we’ll avoid spoilers about how it all ends. What we will say is that Belly and Jeremiah are now officially together, but things aren’t as great as they want it to be. When Jeremiah cheats on Belly, the two need to decide what to do about their relationship and whether there is anything to salvage.
No details have been given about what to expect in the third season, but we’re sure to see it follow most of the third book storyline.
