The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 trailer gives us a look at war
The time is almost here. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 arrives on Prime Video at the end of the month. Before that, we get a glimpse at the story to come with the official trailer.
While there were complaints about the first season in terms of story, the graphics were undoubtably amazing. Fans are cautiously optimistic with the second season based on the trailer. It certainly seems to pick up the storyline, which is one that we know how should end. The question is what plays out before the story of Sauron we already know.
Seeing how Celebrimbor works with Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2
One question that a lot of fans have had is how Celebrimbor would even work with Sauron. After all, this is a man who isn’t easily manipulated, and he doesn’t trust easily. It looks like he trusts just enough.
Celebrimbor tells Galadriel that Sauron works through trust. When someone trusts him, he’s able to get into their minds. That’s what Sauron seems to do to him during the trailer, showing him something that will get him to work with our formidable villain. Once this dark lord is allowed in, there is no turning back.
What about Galadriel? She managed to expose Sauron at the end of the first season. Initially, he tried building the roads in Middle-earth by pretending to be a mortal man called Halbrand. It started to work, but Galadriel managed to expose him after she regjected his offer to rule with him. We’ll get to see the two go head to head at some point as Sauron doubles down on his plans to gain control over Middle-earth.
Sauron starts the process of crafting the rings in The Rings of Power Season 2
The second season will see the process of the rings being created. Sauron will gain power this way. He’ll make magical rings that are then distributed across the various peoples to then control them.
This is sure to set up a war between the different creatures in Middle-earth. We know eventually that the different types of people will separate off from each other. They will struggle to live in harmony, and it’s time to see how all that plays out.
The Harfoots and the Stranger are missing from the trailer. This doesn't mean they won't be included, but it looks like their story is completely separate again.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 premieres on Thursday, Aug. 29 on Prime Video.
