The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is coming to DVD in time for Valentine's Day
There’s no doubt that The Hunger Games is a great franchise. So, it wasn’t surprising to see The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes end up being one of the top movies to watch in 2023.
This is the prequel to Katniss’s story. It’s time to head back to the 10th ever Hunger Games, and President Snow is a young mentor for those coming into the games. This year, he’s the mentor to Lucy Baird, the female tribute for District 12.
We get to see how the two form a bond, and there’s a chance to understand how Snow becomes the man that we know him as in the OG books. This also gives us another look at District 12 and how it became what it would in Katniss’s time.
When is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on DVD?
There is some great news. Fans of the movie will be able to add it to their DVD collections very soon. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
This is later than we predicted based on when movies from Lionsgate have come out in the past. It is possible that Lionsgate is looking at shifting back to a 90-day exclusivity window with theaters. It could also be the fact that this movie performed well during the theatrical release so there was the focus on getting more people there.
You can pre-order The Hunger Games prequel on Amazon right now. This is the best way to secure the lowest price up to the release date as Amazon has a price guarantee.
Don’t want to wait? You can already get it on Digital right now. If you do wait until February, you’ll get the combo packs, though. It’s worth the wait if you’re going to get the Blu-ray or DVD anyway.
