Role Play is likely coming to Prime Video a little earlier than expected

While there aren’t too many releases on Prime Video this week, there are certainly some great picks. Role Play is one that stands out the most as a new Amazon Original Movie.

Kaley Cuoco stars as Emma, a woman who seems to be happily married to her husband David. They do want to spice things up in the bedroom, though, so they decide to head out to a bar and pretend to be strangers.

Well, Emma is very good at this, and it seems to be for a reason. It turns out that she’s a spy, and now she’s on the run and her husband needs to figure out what’s really going on. What happens when you don’t actually know the person you’re married to?

And is Emma really the only one with secrets? What about David’s past? Is there anything from that to come up? If you’re in the mood for something similar to Mr. and Mrs. Smith while you wait for the TV series next month, this is the movie for you.

Role Play release time on Prime Video

The movie officially arrives on Friday, Jan. 12. However, those of us in North America are likely to get it the night before. Look out for the release at around 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Thursday, Jan. 11. After all, the official release time is midnight UK time, so time zones work in our favor.

This happens a lot with Amazon Original content. We’ve seen it with the likes of Reacher, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Gen V in the last year alone. So, there’s no reason to think that we won’t get the early release with this one.

If Amazon does change its mind, there won’t be too long to wait. The movie will drop by midnight local on Friday, Jan. 12. I just don’t think we’ll be waiting until Friday to watch it.
