A Reacher spin-off is close to happening (which character is the lead?)

Amazon is looking at turning another series into a franchise. This time it's Reacher, but which character will get their own show?

The Reacher universe is getting ready to expand. Amazon is close to nearing the greenlight on a new spin-off series.

Reacher is based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. So far, the two seasons have been a huge success, and a third season was greenlit and started production before the second season even came to an end.

It’s not surprising that Amazon is looking to expand the universe of this series. It seems to be the way to go, especially when you have hot shows. The question is who the spin-off will be about.

Maria Sten’s Neagley is the contender for a Reacher spin-off

There are arguably two characters we could see getting their own spin-off. One is Finlay, who did turn up in the second season despite not being in the book the season was based on. With him being back in a big city, a spin-off could be possible.

For now, the focus is on another fan-favorite character, according to Deadline. Frances Neagley is getting her very own spin-off, with Maria Sten set to return. Alan Ritchson would appear in the series as a guest star, likely to help get the spin-off off the ground, should it happen.

What to expect in a Neagley Reacher series

The details of what we could see are slim. That’s because Amazon is still pondering the series. However, we know that Neagley is a corporate security professional, and she is happy to get dirty if she needs to when it comes to helping Reacher out on a case.

This series could have a slightly different feel to the original series. While Jack Reacher is a drifter, Neagley has settled down a little. She doesn’t mind being in one place, which means we could see a few more people turning up season after season—the cast has to change for Ritchson’s series.

This is still in the planning stages, but it’s near the greenlight. It’s just the latest series turning into a franchise, following the success of The Boys. It looks like the Paramount TV closure isn't affecting the universe too much.
