Another week is here and that means more content arrives on Prime Video. This is another week where you’ll want to spend time going through that first-of-the-month drop.
There isn’t a lot new on Prime Video between Aug. 12 and 18, 2024. We find this a lot with the streaming platforms, with the focus being on the big drop on the first of the month. There were more than 100 titles on Aug. 1, 2024, so it’s not like there isn’t something to watch.
Night Swim, JACKPOT, and more
This doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to watch. If you want a horror that is suitable for the teens, then Night Swim is the release for you. This Universal Pictures movie drops on Prime Video on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The movie centers on a family that moves into a new home with an outdoor pool. The pool had been drained, and the family decides to make the most of their new purchase. Of course, they’re going to fill up the pool. It’s a horror movie, though. A drained pool usually means one thing: it was done to prevent some sort of evil spirit killing people.
If you’re more in the mood for comedy, the Amazon Original Movie JACKPOT drops on Thursday, Aug. 15. This movie follows a jackpot winner who reluctantly agrees to hire an amateur lottery winner protection officer. Of course, everything that could go wrong, does go wrong. What would you expect from a Awkwafina and John Cena movie?
For those looking for something for the whole family, Paddington is heading to Prime Video. It’s the 2015 movie that brings us a live-action story of the bear in the blue raincoat and red hat who loves marmalade sandwiches.
