Outer Range Season 2 is just one of the great shows and movies on Prime Video this week

Prime Video is not disappointing when it comes to new content between May 13 and May 19. There is something new on multiple days, and they are some movies and shows we’ve anticipated all year.

Outer Range Season 2 is certainly the biggest release of the week. The sci-fi Western stars Josh Brolin as Royale Abbott. In the first season, the Abbott family found a black void on their land. That led to many questions about what was on the other side and where a stranger came from.

Now Royale’s granddaughter is missing. Did she head into the void, or is she somewhere else on the land? There are still many questions about that void, and if only that was all the Abbotts had to deal with. There’s still the real-life problems of people wanting to buy the land.

American Fiction, Fifty Shades of Black, and more

How about a hit movie that was nominated for awards? American Fiction is finally coming to Prime Video. This is based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Percival Everett, and it follows a fiction writer who decides to do something different.

Monk has seen how the publishing establishment profits from Black entertainment that relies on offensive tropes. He wants to bring something new to help prove his point that it’s a growing problem. So, he creates a novel under a pseudonym. The book propels him to the heart of hypocrisy, but will he admit to what he’s done and will it change anything in the world of fiction?

Would you like a comedy? How about a spoof on Fifty Shades of Grey? That’s what you get with the 2016 movie Fifty Shades of Black, which is coming to Prime Video this week. Marlon Wayans plays Christian Black, an entrepreneur who is interviewed by Hannah Steele for her roommate’s school newspaper.

Of course, there is an instant attraction between the two. Chrisian ends up introducing Hannah to his world of S&M, which while considered hot in Fifty Shades of Grey brings a hilarious take in this spoof.
