It’s Thursday, and that means we’re getting ready for new episodes of Amazon Originals. One in particular is Reacher, which has delivered another excellent season of television so far.
There is some bad news. Reacher is not going to air tonight, Thursday, Jan. 25. This isn’t because Amazon is pushing the release to Friday mornings, either. The season is finished.
If you wondered why things seemed to wrap up well in Reacher Season 2 last week, that’s because it was the season finale. We now have a wait on our hands. The good news is that it’s just a wait. That wasn’t the end of this Lee Child adaptation series.
When will Reacher return to Prime Video?
Production of Reacher Season 3 is underway. It started up in December, which is when Alan Ritchson surprised us all with the announcement that the series was coming back. Okay, the renewal itself wasn’t a surprise. This is a hugely popular series on Prime Video. What was a surprise was that the series was already in production.
That means Reacher was renewed well ahead of the second season being released on Prime Video. It had to be renewed ahead of the actors strike. The WGA strike ended in September, given time to write some episodes to make sure production could start up as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike was done.
Now eyes are on when we could see the season arrive. It’s probably not going to happen in 2024. We could see the season arrive in early 2025, but it is more likely going to be late winter or early spring. That’s just to make sure there is time to get through production and post-production. The wait shouldn’t be as long as the one we just had for Season 2.
Reacher is available to stream on Prime Video.
