The end of The Boys Season 4 teased something exciting. Soldier Boy would return. It turns out that that is definitely the case.

The Boys Season 5 is officially the last. There is no way that we could have the fifth season without Ackles coming back. After all, it’s clear that Soldier Boy’s story isn’t over yet. Homelander has found out where Soldier Boy was put on ice, and it’s time to bring him back into the fold.

Jensen Ackles will be a series regular in The Boys Season 5

During The Boys panel at SDCC 2024, Eric Kripke and co. had a lot of exciting news to share. One of those was about the spin-off, which would focus on Aya Cash’s stormfront and Ackles’s Soldier Boy in the 1950s.

Another piece of exciting news was that Soldier Boy would definitely be back in a big way. Ackles is a series regular for The Boys Season 5.

What does this mean? Well, it’s time for more Soldier Boy, but he may have his wings clipped a little. After all, we could see him on ice for a few episodes. I wouldn’t put it past Homelander to sit by the frozen Soldier Boy to share everything that he’s feeling. Homelander was excited to initially find out that Soldier Boy was his father, but then Soldier Boy made it clear that he was not impressed with who his son had grown up to be. It was a blow to Homelander’s ego.

Will Soldier Boy take out The Seven in The Boys Season 5?

In a way, we’re expecting Vought to be destroyed in the final season. Isn’t that the only way a series like this could come to an end? Don’t we need to see the good guys win?

I will say that this is Kripke, so never expect him to end a series the way it would be traditionally. Look at the Supernatural Season 5 finale, which saw Sam end up pulling himself and Lucifer inside him into the Cage. That was supposed to be the ending, and I believe it was actually supposed to be Dean and Sam taking over from Michael and Lucifer and both ending up in the Cage if it was the series finale that was originally planned.

So, it’s not always a happy ending. If it’s going to be a happy ending, though, we’re potentially looking at Soldier Boy being the reason for the end of Vought considering his abilities.
