There are some big releases happening on Tuesday, Feb. 13. That’s especially the case for movies coming to DVD and Blu-ray. There are some you definitely won’t want to miss, especially if you’ve got other movies in the franchise in your DVD collections.
The Hunger Games prequel, The Marvels, and more
One of the biggest releases is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This is the prequel to The Hunger Games movies, set during the 10th Hunger Games. We follow Lucy Baird, the tribute for District 13, and her connection with her mentor, a young President Snow before he became president. It’s time to understand why Snow became the man he did.
If you’re more in the mood for a superhero movie, you’ll be happy to hear that The Marvels is heading to DVD and Blu-ray. This is the second Captain Marvel movie with Brie Larson, but it’s not just about her. She teams up with two other powerful women, one of them being her niece. They need to work together to save the world from a wormhole that’s opened up.
How about a dystopian series? The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 is heading to DVD this week. Yes, it’s time to see Daryl’s story after he left the group. He ends up in France with no idea how he got there. Not only does he need to survive, but he also needs to find a way back home.
As for the Digital releases, one you’ll want to check out if you love sci-fi horrors is Double Blind. This one follows test subjects in an experimental drug trial. It turns out that the side effects include dying in your sleep. Panic grows as the group of test subjects attempt to stay away and escape all at the same time. But we know that we need sleep to live.
