Wonka among the DVD and Digital releases this week (February 27)

The last Tuesday of February has some exciting new additions to DVD and Blu-ray. Of course, Wonka is going to be at the top of many lists, but there is something for everyone.

Let’s get Wonka out of the way, though. This is finally coming to DVD and Blu-ray. It’s an origin story of Willy Wonka, of sorts. We get to find out how he met the Oompa-Loompas and why they agreed to come work with him. This is a great story filled with music and dancing, as you would expect after seeing Gene Wilder’s version of the character.

Fear the Walking Dead, Lisa Frankenstein, and more

We’ll quickly jump to one of the notable releases on Digital this week. Just weeks after coming out in theaters, Lisa Frankenstein is already coming to Digital. This PG-13 horror comedy follows a teenager who just wants to find love. At the same time, she wants fun. Well, she finds love in the form of an undead corpse, and the two head out on a killing spree.

If you really love zombies, you’ll want to add the next release to your DVD collection. Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 is coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week. This is the final season of the first Walking Dead spin-off series and sees the group attempt to get out from under PADRE’s rule.

Want historical fiction that is based on a true story? Turn your attention to Miranda’s Victim. It follows the story of Trish Weir, who was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda in 1963. She made sure that he suffered under America’s legal system, triggering a law that would transform the nation. If you have ever wondered why the Miranda Rights became a thing, this is the movie to watch.
