Cross lands November premiere date on Prime Video
It’s almost time to see Aldis Hodge take on the role of Alex Cross in the new Amazon series. The show now has a premiere date. The question for many is whether it will be a binge watch or not.
Deadline confirms that Cross Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 14. The release of the teaser back in May offered us hope that the crime thriller would head to the streamer before the end of the year, and now we have that confirmation.
The series is based on the novels by James Patterson. In some excellent news, the second season is already confirmed. There is already plenty of hype around the series, especially with the casting of Hodge as the titular character.
How will Amazon release Cross on Prime Video?
Now there are questions about the release format of the series. After all, this is one of the biggest releases of 2024. Amazon tends to release the big shows weekly.
That’s not going to be the case with this one. TVLine confirms that this is a binge-watch release. There are eight episodes to the first season.
With the second season already confirmed, a binge release isn’t all that concerning. However, this model isn’t all that successful for shows on the streamer. We just have to look at the cancallations of Outer Range, The Wilds, and With Love to see that it doesn’t work. The most successful shows have been those that were released weekly.
The first season of the series will introduce us to Alex Cross, who is a detective and forensic psychologist. He’s able to get inside the minds of the killers, which helps him to eventually capture the killers and bring justice for the victims. Of course, he has trauma from his past, which is sure to come up throughout the series.
