Is Civil War streaming on Amazon after theaters?
Just as Fallout drops on Prime Video, there’s a new movie to watch in theaters. It’s all about Civil War starring Kirsten Dunst.
The movie is set in a future where rebel factions are heading toward the White House to take it down. A group of military-embedded journalists need to get to Washington D.C. to warn the President and the staff and get them out before it happens.
Of course, they’re crossing a dystopian wasteland. There is violence everywhere, and this is one of the most dangerous missions they will ever face. Can they get there in time?
Civil War could head to Prime Video
Now for where it will stream after theaters. This is an A24 movie, which means that there isn’t a specific streaming home for it. The great news is a lot of A24 movies head to Prime Video as their first streaming home.
This isn’t always the case, though. It all depends on the bidding war for the movie, and that doesn’t usually happen until after a showing to see what the potential is with the audience. This dystopian future would have a great home on Prime Video considering it’s the home of Fallout, but it would also work on Netflix, which as Black Summer, The Dark, and more apocalyptic futures.
Civil War will head to Amazon Video
There is another great option. It’s all about the Digital release. As Civil War is a theatrically released movie from A24, it is going to get a Digital release. That means it will be available to rent or buy on Amazon Instant Video. This is different to Prime Video, and you don’t need a subscription to buy the movies.
The problem here is we don’t know exactly when the movie will come to Digital. A lot of A24 movies take one to two months after the theatrical releases, so we’re saying around the middle of June. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for this one.
Civil War is currently out in theaters.
